Future stars meet football legend Lampard
On Thursday 28th September we were delighted to welcome England and Chelsea football legend Frank Lampard to Ricards Lodge to run a coaching session. This was part of the ‘Girls go for Gold’ day, which Wimbledon High School were running to support girls in making it to elite level sport.
Eight of our elite athletes join a group of 500 girls from all over the country to receive coaching and advice from some well known and internationally recognised sporting stars including Christina Cullen, Olympic Gold medalist in hockey and Karen Pickering, Olympic medallist in swimming.
When we were asked to support the event and host Frank Lampard we jumped at the chance. Forty students got the opportunity to meet and be coached by Frank. He was extremely kind, motivational and passionate about helping to promote women in sport. Frank spoke with enthusiasm about his daughters loving sport and how important that was to him.
Training with Frank Lampard was an amazing experience. He inspired me to push myself and work hard to achive my goals.

Students loved the goody bags they received. A real highlight included the question and answer session with the elite athletes and of course the opportunity to take selfies and get autographs. This was a day that none of us will forget!
