Students visit 'Move It 2018'
On Saturday 17th March, a wide range of students from several year groups attended a huge event for the dance industry; 'Move It 2018'.
‘Move It’ – a three-day dance event - is held annually in London to encourage dancers from all over the UK to develop their skills and learn more about the performing arts. Move It 2018 was held in London’s ExCeL arena, where visitors were treated to performances by leading dancers, workshops about pursuing a career in dance as well as dance classes to get involved in.
During their visit, the young dancers had the opportunity to utilise all of these different activities to help widen their understanding of the arts.
‘Absolutely Inspiring and so much fun. There were amazing performances on the main stage, and fantastic mouth-opening freestyles and choreographies on the freestyle stage. There was a variety of stalls, smaller events and classes. An amazing experience with everyone united in their passion for dance.’ Konstancja Year 12
‘Watching professionals dance has motivated me to up my game so that my skills in dancing are better. It has also boosted my confidence for performing. Mya Year 9
This experience was very beneficial for me because it helped me see the possible schools and universities I might want to apply to in the future to further my dance education and career. It was also an extremely enjoyable day out as we were able to watch performances.

The visit was funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation. A case study of this visit also features on the foundation website as a story they are proud of.
