World Hijab Day

Our Year 10 Cultural Ambassadors have been busy these last two weeks, presenting year group assemblies and talks to tutor groups on the Hijab in recognition of World Hijab Day on 1st February.

They interviewed teachers and students on their choice to wear or not wear the Hijab, discussed the ongoing protests in Iran and why religion is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010 and a basic Human Right. Many students attended their workshop to find out more and add their own opinions and experiences, which students will put together to create a short video after half-term.
