27th August 2019

Welcome to our second summer newsletter. In this newsletter, we celebrate the success of our Year 11s and 13s in their external examinations and look back at the summer term.

We are delighted with our provisional Key Stage Four results this year which are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students and staff at Ricards Lodge High School. It was a pleasure to share the good news this year with Councillor Stringer the Lead Member for Education at Merton Council along with the Deputy Mayor and Chair of Governors Mr Ed Foley and his consort Ms Annabel Foley.

Our results are up again with 76% of all our pupils gaining 4+ in Maths and English and 50% 5+ again in both subjects. Our attainment 8 score is currently at 54.57. As ever there were some stellar individual results with so many pupils gaining those hard won 8s and 9s. We look forward to welcoming our newest recruits to RR6 in the new academic year. Enjoy the rest of the summer.

Governor's message

Firstly, on behalf of the governing body, congratulations to all the girls on a fantastic set of GCSE, BTEC and A level results, and thank you to all the staff for the support and direction they gave those pupils.

It was wonderful to see teachers going out of their way to lay on extra after-school revision sessions as well as introducing initiatives such as lecture-style forums and linking with our partner schools, all of which helped the students progress to their next level.

After a breather over the summer the new term will be upon us, and we will be looking for new candidates to join the governing body, as well as parental support in other areas such as Friends of Ricards, so please have a think about taking on one of these roles and look out for more information on Parentmail in the coming weeks.

All the best for the rest of the summer.

Greg Thorpe

(Communications Governor)

on behalf of the Ricards Lodge Board of Governors

Have you downloaded the Parent Mail App?

At Ricards Lodge all communications to parents are via ParentMail and Frog, our school VLE.

The ParentMail app is the most effective way to manage messages, payments for trips and complete online forms.

In order to register for ParentMail please follow the link in the email or text you received from the school at the start of term, or request a link from the school office.

We are pleased to announce that the Year 13s have once again produced excellent results in their A level and BTEC Level 3 qualifications this Summer.

The provisional results show that more than a quarter of our grades were at A* to A, 57% at A* to B and 84% at A* to C.  These excellent results reflect the hard work and commitment of students, staff and support of their families over the last two years.

We are pleased that many of our students have achieved their first choice university place, including four students who have successfully secured places at Oxford and Cambridge.

Students have also secured exciting apprenticeships including a placement at Rolls Royce as well as further employment. In addition, we also have students with many different gap year plans.

RR6 would like to wish everyone the very best of luck in their next steps in their future study or career.
