Welcome to our first newsletter for this academic year and what an action packed term it has been so far.

I was very proud of our recently published Progress 8 figure which demonstrates how much progress our Year 11 students made in their Summer exams from their starting point  in Year 7. This figure was 0.81 which is our best yet. You can view this yourself on www.gov.uk (compare schools).

Other highlights have included the excellent PE interform competitions and school trips including the RR6 visit to Margate. We have hosted a number of visitors from other local schools looking to see how we do things, including from Chestnut Grove in Wandsworth.

I hope you enjoy the newsletter and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Governor's message

We are currently looking for three parents who are interested in joining the school governing body. These opportunities only come around every few years depending on the election cycle so we encourage any parents who are interested in getting more involved at the school to apply.

Being a governor is the perfect way to directly contribute to the school community and to guide the strategic direction of Ricards Lodge whilst ensuring high levels of progress and achievement for all students.

A separate note went out on Parentmail earlier in the week with further information and the nomination form,  and we hope you might consider applying yourself or encouraging other parents who you know who might be interested to do so. If you'd like further information or would like to speak to one of the governors then please contact us via the school office.
