What Our Girls Say

Year 11, Assistant Head Girl

I love to be involved in as many aspects of school life as possible. In my opinion, the greatest part of Ricards is the large variety of extra-curricular activities that are offered.

As a result of this, I have taken the chance to be a member of almost all of the sports teams from athletics and cross country to football and tennis and many others in between as well as sports council.

I have enjoyed being a part of the school productions, and I loved taking part in Summer Sounds each year, both live and virtual. I was lucky to play Fagin in Oliver Twist in the Year 7 production and go to the 02 arena with the choir to participate in Young Voices.

I completed a mock university course with Brilliant Club in Year 8, on English Literature, which was an amazing opportunity. I worked very hard at it and was rewarded with a 1st.

In addition, I spent the entire first term of both Year 9 and 10 dedicating every lunchtime and some afternoons after school attending ball girls. Although I ultimately didn't qualify, it taught me a great deal about teamwork and dedication; an experience that I will never forget.

Therefore, by using the four school values; Trust, Equality, Resilience and Aspiration, I hope to continue the development of our excellent school, helping students and teachers alike, with the rest of the JLT team.
