Course Text Books

We use the Geog. Text books in KS3 and each half term your daughter will be provided with a Topic overview which makes suggestions of useful reading material, websites and places to visit in London to support the learning with that topic. These are stuck into the students exercise books.

Books/Magazines:

The horrible Geography Collection

Doyle, J (2010). Where on Earth? Geography without the boring bits. London: Buster Books.

National Geographic Magazines

Daily newspapers

London is also full of great Geographical exhibitions:

The National Maritime Museum in Greenwich which examines Britain’s lengthy relationship with the sea -   http://www.rmg.co.uk/national-maritime-museum

The Science Museum - www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/ and the Natural History Museum - www.nhm.ac.uk both in South Kensington

You could also try the London Museum www.museumoflondon.org.uk/docklands and the Transport Museum http://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/

Additional Materials/Equipment required:

It is helpful if every student has a good atlas available at home.

Home Support:

Please encourage your daughter to watch the news and documentaries on T.V. to develop a greater awareness of the world they live in. Internet access and a printer are very useful for completing research assignments.
