We have had a very productive half term, appointing a new Junior Leadership Team, hosting our inaugural Sports Awards evening and seeing a large number of students perform across a range of arts disciplines in our drama productions and dance showcase.
We are also looking forward to welcoming younger students from our feeder primaries to our taster days and intake events.
We wish all of our students sitting external examinations every success.
Ricards Lodge has been invited to take part in a review of arts education and contribute to a film which is being made in conjunction with the National Army Museum and Culture Street, a multimedia arts organisation.
In early May, Mrs Jerrard and Mrs Lawrence, on behalf of the school community, were invited to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace.
The invite from the DfE on behalf of the SSAT (The School Students and Teachers Network) was in recognition of our continued success at Ricards Lodge. The Queen, Duke of York and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also in attendance.
As part of our commitment to protecting our pupils online, we have partnered with National Online Safety (NOS) to deliver access to 50+ online platform guides and a free interactive online workshop for all of our parents & carers.
This aims to help empower parents with the knowledge to protect their children from the dangers of the internet. Please find below the URL you need to visit to register your account You will need to complete your details and select “I am a: Parent/Carer” from the drop-down:
At our recent Governing Body meeting last week, all the governors were delighted to see so much activity happening across the school both in terms of the curriculum (good luck to all the girls currently in the midst of their exams!), and in other areas including school trips both here and abroad, dance and music performances, and a huge breadth of sporting activities, as well as the 1st ever Sports Awards Evening.
As always there is real pressure on the budgets within any school and here at Ricards Lodge we are working hard to ensure we manage the budgets effectively and also strive to generate additional income from all possible areas. We are currently looking to secure charitable status for our school fund in order to generate monies which will allow us to purchase new tech equipment such as Chromebooks and tablets to provide our students with speedier access to information & imagery which they can then manipulate and edit as part of the modern learning process. We'll keep you posted with progress here and as always we welcome ideas and input from parents which help make Ricards a better environment for the girls and teachers. (Please contact the school office with any suggestions.)
All the best to our girls, their parents and their teachers for a successful end to the school year.
