In mid-September, 60 year 11 pupils from five partnership schools who would be first generation university scholars attended a trip to Royal Holloway University of London.
The 60 students, including ten from Ricards, had taken part in a similar visit to King’s College London last year during Year 10.
The trip featured a tour of the campus, a social sciences taster lecture and a Q & A panel discussion with student ambassadors. Pupils particularly enjoyed the campus tour and meeting the current students.
One pupil said that as a result of the visit they would aim to, ‘learn more about different universities and find one that suits me’, whilst another said that they would ‘try to find work and experience that can aid my career and try to learn more life skills that can be used in many scenarios’ and a third added that they'd, ‘research courses I would like to take’.
