International Visits

At Ricards Lodge we are committed to growing partnerships with schools and organisations from around the world. We aspire to have a truly global outlook and to provide opportunities for our students which reflect our multilingual, international school community.

In June 2025 we were delighted to be chosen by Kingston Study Centre to host an exchange visit from Da Ren Catholic High School, Taipei, Taiwan. We welcomed 13 students and three staff to our school for five days, and 30 of our Year 9 students acted as buddies for the visitors. The Taiwanese students attended lessons, socialised with Ricards students at break and lunch, and attended a talk by the Mayor of Merton at the school. The staff from Da Ren were complimentary about the openness and compassion of our students, and were impressed with the school facilities, especially the RR6 building. The visiting students and the Ricards Year 9 buddies were devastated to part ways on the final day, but have no doubt forged friendships that will continue long after they waved each other goodbye.

Plans are already underway to host the school for a second time in the Summer Term 2026, when a new group of students will enjoy the benefits that international exchange visits can bring to both guests and hosts.
