It is incredible that a school the size of Ricards is managing to get this so brilliantly spot on. I am really, really impressed.

I can see how hard you all work and also how there is a real passion in getting the Year 7's settled. The parent communication is outstanding, and this helps manage it from home too.

I cannot tell you how useful it is to have a simple printable document with all this year's key dates on – sent to us like you did – so simple, but so welcome. There are many, many schools that just don't get this stuff right.

Thank you, also, for bringing in the new smartphone ban for year 7's. It has been such a relief to not have this battle yet. My daughter and her friends were delighted with their Nokia 3210s for emergencies, and they barely touch or think about them!

I wish more schools were as courageous as you.
