Borough Athletics Championships

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the phenomenal success of our students at the recent Borough Athletics Championships.
In a day filled with determination and sporting excellence, Ricards Lodge High School was crowned the overall winners, taking home the Girls' Championship Trophy.
The event saw a huge number of our athletes deliver standout performances, demonstrating the resilience and aspiration that we value so highly at Ricards. Due to their exceptional results, many of our students have now qualified to represent Merton at the upcoming Surrey Schools Championships - a fantastic achievement that highlights the depth of talent within our school.
Though there were a number of standout individual performances, the highlight of the day came during the track relay finals. Our Year 8/9 relay team delivered a truly spectacular performance that left the rest of team purple cheering. Not only did they win their own final with ease, but they also set the fastest girls' relay time of the entire day. Our Year 8 and
9 students clocked a quicker time than all of the Year 10 and 11 teams competing, proving themselves to be the ones to beat across the borough!
The PE Department would like to extend a huge well done to every student who participated. Whether competing in field events or on the track, the teamwork and support shown for one another were exemplary.
We look forward to cheering on our athletes as they head to the Surrey Schools Championships to represent both Ricards Lodge and the Borough of Merton.
Well done, Team Ricards!
