RR6 Go Stargazing

In January, RR6 A-Level Physics students went on a trip to the Royal Greenwich Observatory.

The students sat in on a lecture on Stellar Evolution, participated in a workshop where, with the help of RGO’s lead astronomer, they learnt how exoplanets are discovered and even calculated some key information about recently discovered exoplanets using live data from satellites. The day was rounded off with a tour of the Weller Astronomy Gallery and a presentation on the Solar System, the Galaxy and the Universe in the Planetarium.
