What Our Girls Say

Laura

Year 11, Assistant Head Girl

As an Assistant Head Girl at Ricards, I am fortunate enough to be able to represent the student body and work alongside my peers and teachers to help make Ricards a better place and more enjoyable for everyone, while continuing to make it an accepting community for pupils.

Since Year 7, I have always taken part in school activities such as science events and sports clubs, which have benefited me throughout my time at Ricards. There's a wide range of clubs, which helped me socialise and make friends throughout the years, as well as get to know the teachers more. Ricards has a very active performing arts department, allowing students to participate in extracurricular events such as music performances, school plays and the school orchestra. I have been lucky enough to be a part of plays and orchestra performances, which has helped me develop my confidence and has encouraged me to take music GCSE.

Ricards Lodge students also have the opportunity to become ball girls at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, and I was privileged to be chosen to take part last year. The PE department at the school was very supportive and helped us achieve the high standards of skills required to be selected as a ball girl. The whole process was intense, but an amazing experience and I would encourage anyone joining the school to trial in year 9.

Therefore, I believe Ricards offers its pupils the opportunities and support to fulfil their potential and become 'successful women of the future'.
